Glico formula No. 0 (formerly known as Icreo No. 0) is a domestic Japanese product and only has instructions in Japanese, causing difficulties for mothers when preparing the formula. If the formula is too concentrated, it can harm the baby’s kidneys, while if it’s too diluted, it won’t provide adequate nutrition.

3. How to prepare Glico formula No. 0 correctly
* Use boiled water cooled to 70 degrees Celsius (158 degrees Fahrenheit).
* First, add the required number of level scoops of Glico formula No. 0 to the bottle. Pour 2/3 of the required water into the bottle, close the lid tightly, and shake gently to dissolve the formula. Then add the remaining water (still at 70 degrees Celsius), and shake again until the formula is completely dissolved.
* Let the formula cool down to around 38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit) before feeding your baby. To cool it quickly, you can place the bottle in a bowl of cold water. Before feeding, check the temperature by dropping a few drops onto your wrist. It should feel lukewarm.
Example: Your baby is between 1/2 and 1 month old. The required amount of Glico No. 0 is 6 scoops, making 120 ml of formula. Here’s how to prepare it: First, add 6 level scoops of formula to the sterilized bottle. Then, add 80 ml (= 2/3 x 120 ml) of cooled boiled water (70 degrees Celsius). Close the lid and shake well. Add the remaining water (still at 70 degrees Celsius) to reach 120 ml and shake again until the formula is fully dissolved. Cool the formula down to 38 degrees Celsius and then feed your baby.
